Southern
Leavenworth County Leadership Development
Southern
Leavenworth County Leadership Development program has graduated
over 241 students from the Basehor, Tonganoxie, Linwood and
Lansing areas. The Leadership program is a joint venture of
the Basehor and Tonganoxie Chambers of Commerce. The purpose
of the program is to expose citizens of Leavenworth County
and surrounding areas to the leadership opportunities presented
by the growth and development of our communities, and to encourage
community involvement. Classes deal with the challenges facing
our communities in the areas of leadership, education, local
government, media affairs, state government, and planning
and economic development. Classes are held one day per month
from September to April.
Persons
living or working in the Leavenworth County area, including
high school juniors and seniors who are interested in developing
their leadership skills and becoming better informed citizens
are eligible to participate in the class.
If
you or someone in your company is interested in participating,
please contact our chamber office for more information.
Committees
There
will be many opportunities for business members to participate
on Chamber committees.
Participation
on committees that impact community issues offer Chamber members
a way to be informed, meet other business people with similar
community and business interests, develop leadership and management
skills, and have a positive effect on our Community.
