Tonganoxie Unified School District 464 serves the southern Leavenworth County communities of Tonganoxie, Jarbalo and Reno and encompasses 142 square miles. All school offices are open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. when school is in session.

Curriculum
USD 464’s educational program balances a curriculum of basic education with excellent opportunities for career and exploratory studies. The elementary school, junior high and high school are fully accredited under QPA standards by the Kansas Department of Education. THS student achievement on the Kansas State Math Assessment was three points above the state average and ranked second among the seven public and private high schools in Leavenworth County. TJHS student achievement on the Kansas State Reading Assessment was three points above the state average and ranked second among the 11 public junior high schools in Leavenworth County. TES student achievement on the Kansas State Math Assessment was four points above the state average and ranked fourth among the 18 public elementary schools in Leavenworth County.

The elementary and junior high schools provide instruction in foundation skills of reading, math, writing and social science. The high school offers a strong college preparatory program, as well as vocational instructional programs.

Special Education Services: The Tonganoxie USD 464 is a member of the Leavenworth County Special Education Cooperative. This cooperative comprises six school districts within Leavenworth County that share costs and facilities to provide a complete and comprehensive special education program.

Extra-Curricular Activities: The high school and junior high each offers a full range of extra-curricular activities, including volleyball, football, soccer, cross country, basketball, wrestling, track, baseball, softball and golf. Other activity offerings include debate (five-time state champions), Knowledge Bowl, FFA, FHA, Student Council, Pep Club, cheerleading, drill team, Chieftain Singers, Jazz Band and band (Cotton Bowl and Liberty Bowl participants).

Our Kindergarten is all day, every day. Parents may choose to have them come less than a whole day. Price is the same.
Hours for elementary & Jr. High are 8:00 – 3:00.

All grades use the ABeka curriculum, an accelerated program. Our students consistently score very high on the national SAT test. Bible classes, chapel and discussion help develop a Christian world- view and reinforce Christian values taught at home and church.

Enrichment classes are offered in P. E., Art, Music, Spanish, and Computer Lab.
