The
Mirror is published weekly on Wednesdays. This community
newspaper's circulation is 2,400 copies. It is the official
newspaper for the city of Tonganoxie, as well as Leavenworth
County. The newspaper provides coverage of southern Leavenworth
County and the entire U.S. Highway 24-40 corridor that connects
Tonganoxie with Kansas City. The Mirror and its staff have
received numerous state and national press association awards.

The
Mirror traces its roots to the days of the horse and buggy. George
R. Broadbere, a former British sailor, founded the newspaper on
May 4, 1882. The subscription rate was 50 cents a year. The World
Company of Lawrence has owned and operated the weekly newspaper
since September 1999. The current in-county subscription rate is
$30 a year.
