Tonganoxie Split

Did you ever wonder where the phrase came from? Here are the facts as told by Mike Thompson, chief meteorologist for WDAF-TV FOX 4.

I talked to Dan Henry this evening about this, and here is what he said:

A guy from Tonganoxie called him one time, to explain that weather patterns seem to split just west of Tonganoxie. Dan said that he was the first to publically call it that, and it stuck, but he says he cannot take credit for coining the phrase.
